The world of work is changing—and so are we. At Q-Sourcing, we’ve listened, we’ve learned, and we’re taking bold steps to meet the moment. We are flipping the script on how we shortlist candidates for jobs. Moving away from using academic qualifications as the first requirement, to consideration of evidence of applied skills and knowledge.
We know talent comes in many forms—and not everyone’s journey follows the same path, right. We also know that life doesn’t throw at us the same equal opportunities as we all come from very different backgrounds. So why not step up and focus on great talent, great delivery and actually getting the work done other than what’s just on paper. Why leave out that candidate driven by their passion just because life never dealt them a degree? It’s not just about the degree anymore, it’s about what you can do and the evidence to back up your claims. Whether you learned from a university, online, in the field or through hustle and heart, we’re here for all of it.
At Q-Sourcing, we believe skills, experience, attitude, and potential speak louder than certificates. This move opens the door wider for individuals with proven expertise and talent —especially the youth—who may not have traditional academic credentials but are able to deliver results and get the job done.
By changing to this strategy, we are going to build an inclusive, capable workforce driven by excellence, not just education. It is a fairer and more forward-thinking hiring process because it means that those with the skills but no formal degrees get more access to job opportunities plus, they also get to prove themselves with action and not just paperwork.
So, starting now, your skills, drive and ability to deliver matter more to us than what’s written on your academic certificate. So, we’re evolving our hiring process to focus on what you can do, not just what or where you studied.
However, as you grow in your role or take on more complex responsibilities, academic qualifications may still be necessary at certain levels. So while we’re prioritising ability at the start, formal learning will still play a role as your career progresses.
So, no! Do not toss those academic qualifications away just yet because when professionals grow within their careers and step into more technical or senior roles, academic qualifications become critical depending on their responsibilities. So while degrees aren’t always required at the start, they will be essential along one’s career journey.
The future belongs to those who are ready to show up and show out—degree or no degree.
Great initiative
Thank you for evolved hiring approach at Q-Sourcing, can you organize a Webinar to guide and encourage candidates to clearly demonstrate their competence through practical experience, relevant training, and any form of education, formal or informal in their CV.
This is such a refreshing and much-needed shift—well done to Q-Sourcing for taking this bold step. It’s true, talent doesn’t always come wrapped in a degree, and many people have the skills and drive to succeed even without formal papers.
It’s great to see an organization recognizing that and giving people a real chance to prove themselves based on what they can actually do, not just what’s written on a certificate. Life isn’t the same for everyone, and opportunities haven’t always been equal—so this approach is a big win for inclusivity and fairness.
Also love that you’re still acknowledging the role of education as people grow in their careers. That balance is important. Looking forward to seeing more companies follow your lead!
That’s very good idea since I was born now you open many youth those have talents but they don’t have paper thanks to consider our lower people
Great perspective and move.
This is amazing
Well done.
For job seekers like me, who’ve gained experience through online courses, hands-on projects, and self‑driven learning, this is a powerful signal that the playing field is finally leveling skills and attitude matter more than paper credentials. I’d love to know: what’s the best way to showcase practical projects and skill evidence when applying? Would a tailored portfolio or a skills assessment be helpful at the initial application stage?
This is a beautiful initiative
This is a bold and inspiring move,Prioritizing skills, passion, and performance over just paper qualifications opens doors for so many talented individuals. It’s encouraging to see a hiring approach that truly values potential and inclusivity, while still recognizing the long-term value of academic growth.
This is a very good initiative and it will motivate many citizens who had lost hope to another level. May God bless the whole process.
That’d be amazing, would definitely love to work and share my skills with you company.
That’s it we have always missed such opportunities because of the way guys look at our experience vs papers especially for oil and gas companies, we have big experience we are left out
Wawoo thanks for realizing that because many people are capable of doing the tasks but they lack degrees not because they did it intentionally but just because their financial backgrounds failed them completely i love believe in q sourcing just know God bless you people more
I like the however part.
“as you grow in your role or take on more complex responsibilities, academic qualifications may still be necessary at certain levels. So while we’re prioritising ability at the start, formal learning will still play a role as your career progresses.

A degree is not just a paper, that’s why looking at which institution offered it is also crucial as accredited institutions award it to those who have been extensively trained with a mix of skills that can be used in solving numerous challenges as they do occur! Such people are easy to train even in other short courses or anything else. The challenge has been caused by people who are not trained who present fake degrees which are just papers, and it becomes worse if we generalise it to undermine the efforts of those who do whatever it takes to get trained in over 18 course units to get awarded with an actual academic qualification.
I think it’s a very good move that I believe will change the Q-sourcing human resources because experiences and skills are the ones that help someone to deliver not qualifications or papers. So, bravo! the human resources’ department at Q-sourcing, you have got it and that you will be ahead of everyone, organization or company that still dwell much on qualifications or papers.
Thank you
That’s it but a degree is also necessary
With my experience I have always failed to get jobs because of few certificates with you q-sourcing
Finally Q sourcing you always set the pace and others follow in human resource management, I personally have missed out alot of opportunities in the oil and gas industry because of a degree ,I studied Upstream Petroleum Operations life gave me a chance and have grown my career in electrical and instrumentation but ad much marketable the course is a degree as faailed me an entry in oil and gas but Qsourcing looked at my capabilities and have continuiously developed my experience in this field with Qsourcing at Pearl dairy Farm Limited Mbarara hope even government picks the lead.
Thank you
That’s a great move, sometimes academic papers and degrees doesn’t mean ability to complete tasks assigned.
This is great one
Most people who have appt to contribute without degrees are many
And with this approach diversified resources and skills we see the sharing of many different ideas from different backgrounds that shall see a big achievement
Thanks a lot team
