Q-Sourcing Servtec Uganda has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Uganda School for the Deaf (USD) as part of its corporate social responsibility commitment to supporting inclusive education and expanding access to learning opportunities for disadvantaged learners.

The partnership marks an important step in strengthening support for learners with hearing impairment, particularly those facing financial barriers that affect their ability to remain in school and complete their studies.

About Uganda School for the Deaf

Founded in 1959 by the Uganda Society for the Deaf at Namirembe Hill, the Uganda School for the Deaf is one of the country’s key institutions dedicated to educating deaf learners. The school’s current campus in Ntinda was commissioned in 1972 and officially opened in 1987. Today, the school supports approximately 196 learners.

Addressing Barriers to Education

During the visit, the school highlighted several challenges affecting learners and the wider school community. One of the major concerns is the inability of some learners to stay in school due to difficulties in raising school dues. The school also faces infrastructure-related challenges, with some buildings and facilities requiring improvement.

Q-Sourcing Servtec Uganda’s Support

Through the partnership, Q-Sourcing Servtec Uganda will support selected learners who are disadvantaged in accessing education. The initiative reflects the company’s broader CSR goal of contributing to inclusive, sustainable, and community-centered development.

As part of the engagement, the visiting team also participated in a tree-planting activity following a tour of the school. Both institutions expressed a shared commitment to continue exploring additional areas of partnership and support for the school.
