On behalf of our client in the hospitality sector, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced head chef to work in Kampala.

Job summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Head Chef to lead their culinary operations and deliver exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will oversee kitchen operations, manage staff, maintain quality standards, and create memorable meals for their guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all kitchen operations and maintain high quality and food safety standards
  • Plan menus, design dishes, and develop recipes that reflect culinary excellence
  • Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure professional performance
  • Manage food costs, inventory, and supplier relationships effectively
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with management to enhance guest satisfaction and restaurant reputation

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 years professional experience in culinary arts and kitchen management
  • Proven track record leading kitchen teams in hospitality settings
  • Valid Uganda National ID (required)
  • Advanced knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and nutrition
  • Strong leadership, creativity, and business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure
