Purpose of the Role
The Finance Officer is responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, donor requirements, and organizational policies. The role supports effective financial planning, reporting, and analysis to guide management decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and documentation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Monitor budgets, expenditures, and cash flow to ensure financial sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, statutory obligations, and internal policies.
- Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Conduct financial analysis to support program and organizational decision-making.
- Manage payroll, staff advances, and reimbursements in line with policies.
- Oversee banking operations, reconciliations, and cash management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial management.
- Experience working with donor-funded projects is an added advantage.

- Strong knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel.
