On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Casual Labourer to work in Nairobi, Kenya
Job Summary
We are hiring two casual laborers to support a time-bound physical audit of motorcycle logbooks. The role involves working closely with the Logbook & NTSA Compliance Officer to count, verify, scan, and file approximately 5,000 motorcycle logbooks within a one-month period. The position is hands-on, detail-oriented, and requires strong computer literacy and a collaborative work ethic.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Count and sort physical logbooks from the secure cabinet by registration series.
- Retrieve individual logbooks and match them against the Looker-based Excel checklist.
- Update the Excel workbook by marking each record as Yes (logbook found) or No (logbook missing).
- Scan physical logbooks using the designated scanning equipment.
- Rename scanned files according to the motorcycle’s registration number and series.
- Batch and upload digital files to SharePoint, organized by registration series.
- Return physical logbooks to the cabinet in the correct series order after scanning.
- Flag and escalate any irregularities or unclear records to the Compliance Officer immediately.
- Maintain accurate daily progress logs and update the team on work completed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
| Computer Proficiency | Comfortable working on a computer for extended periods; ability to navigate file systems and standard Windows/Mac applications. |
| Excel Data Entry | Ability to work accurately within Excel — locating rows, applying Yes/No entries, using filters, and maintaining data integrity throughout. |
| Scanning & Digital Filing | Experience or ability to quickly learn how to operate a document scanner, rename files systematically, and upload organized batches to SharePoint. |
| Attention to Detail | Must accurately match physical logbooks to digital records with zero tolerance for misfiling or incorrect entries. |
| Fast Learner | Ability to quickly grasp the workflow, tools, and filing conventions introduced during onboarding. |
| Communication | Clear, proactive communication — reporting progress, flagging issues, and collaborating effectively with the Compliance Officer and the second casual laborer. |
| Collaborative Attitude | Willingness to work as part of a small, goal-oriented team with shared targets and timelines. |
