About This Job:
Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Plumber to work in Mavoko, Kenya.
Job Purpose
As a Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in the plant and buildings. Your role will involve ensuring that plumbing systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1.Installations
- Install and assemble piping systems, fittings, and fixtures according to blueprints, specifications, and plumbing codes.
- Set up and install water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and showers.
- Ensure proper alignment, placement, and support of pipes, valves, and fixtures.
2. Repairs & Maintenance
- Diagnose plumbing issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Fix leaks, clogs, and other plumbing problems promptly and efficiently.
- Conduct routine maintenance to prevent future issues and prolong the lifespan of plumbing systems.
- Inspect plumbing systems, components, and fixtures to identify and address potential problems.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the safety of self and others.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, accidents or near misses to the relevant authorities.
- Adhere to all relevant plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Ensure all installations and repairs meet quality standards and comply with building codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and dispose of waste materials properly.
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Generate accurate records of work performed, including installation, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Report any issues, concerns, or deviations from plans or specifications to appropriate personnel.
5. Productivity & Performance
- Deliver performance objectives set and institute immediate corrective action where performance is below par.
- Proactively manage own learning and development.
- Adhere to the annual leave plan agreed with line manager.
- Adhere to HR policies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
1.Installations
- Time taken to complete plumbing tasks or projects.
- Quality of plumbing workmanship through inspections, audits, or customer feedback.
2. Repairs & Maintenance
- Response time to service requests or emergencies.
- Percentage of plumbing issues resolved on the first visit.
- Zero leakages of steam in plant, compressed air and water.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Compliance with plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Number of accidents, incidents and near misses.
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Number and quality of reports generated.
- Frequency of reporting to the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
Education
- Government Trade Test I, II, III in Plumbing – NITA.
Experience
- At least 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Technical Skills
- Strong plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
