On April 30, 2026, employees of Q-Sourcing Servtec Rwanda visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to preserving history, promoting awareness, and fostering responsible citizenship.
The visit provided employees with an opportunity to reflect deeply on Rwanda’s past, particularly the events surrounding the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Through guided tours of the memorial, the team gained a deeper understanding of the circumstances that led to one of the darkest chapters in the nation’s history, as well as the profound impact it continues to have today.
As they moved through the different sections of the memorial, employees engaged with powerful stories, historical accounts, and personal testimonies that highlighted both the scale of the tragedy and the resilience of the Rwandan people. The Genocide against the Tutsi claimed the lives of more than one million people in just 100 days, before it was brought to an end by the Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA).
In honour of the victims, the Q-Sourcing Servtec Rwanda team laid wreaths at the mass graves where over 250,000 individuals are laid to rest, paying tribute to the lives lost and standing in solidarity with the nation’s commitment to remembrance.
The visit also offered an opportunity to learn about Rwanda’s remarkable journey of recovery, reconciliation, and rebuilding in the years that followed, an inspiring testament to the strength and unity of its people.
Speaking during the visit, Country Manager Martin Rushema Mugisha emphasized the importance of preserving accurate historical narratives and the role organizations play in shaping responsible, informed communities.
“We believe that the private sector, including Q-Sourcing Servtec Rwanda, has a critical role to play in ensuring that the message of remembrance is passed on to future generations. The Genocide against the Tutsi must never happen again,” he said.
He further encouraged employees, especially the youth to actively engage with Rwanda’s history by visiting memorial sites, seeking knowledge from credible sources, and standing against misinformation and distortion of historical facts.
Q-Sourcing Servtec Rwanda remains committed not only to delivering exceptional HR and business solutions but also to contributing positively to the communities it serves. Initiatives such as this visit reflect the organization’s dedication to fostering awareness, empathy, and a shared responsibility to uphold the values of unity and remembrance.
