Purpose of the Role
The HR Manager is responsible for leading and managing the human resources function to ensure effective recruitment, staff development, performance management, and employee relations. The role ensures compliance with labor laws and organizational policies while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, organizational standards, and donor requirements.
- Recruitment & Staffing
- Manage recruitment processes including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
- Develop strategies for staff retention and succession planning.
- Performance Management
- Oversee performance appraisal systems and provide guidance to managers.
- Support staff development through training and capacity-building initiatives.
- Employee Relations
- Provide advice on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.
- Promote a positive organizational culture and staff well-being.
- HR Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
- Manage payroll, benefits, and compensation structures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master’s degree or HR certification (SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR management experience.
- Experience in donor-funded or NGO environments is an added advantage.
