On behalf of our client Mota-Engil-Uganda, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Maintenance Manager to work in Uganda.
Position: Maintenance Manager.
Department: Plant & Equipment.
Job summary:
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for scheduling and supervising all maintenance-related work.
Key roles and responsibilities.
- Maintains records and prepares reports regarding quantity and value of fuel oil purchased, received, stored, and used.
- Makes computations and other related data to fuel-oil ledgers and records and compares data with contract specifications and delivery documents to detect errors and verify the accuracy of entries.
- Notifies supervisory personnel when discrepancies and errors cannot be resolved.
- Prepares reports of quantity and value of oil purchased, received, lost in delivery, burned, and in storage tanks.
- Inspect equipment and controls at periodic intervals to detect Malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, the quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
- Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
- Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
- Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyse information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
- Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.

Qualifications, Skills, and Education required.
- Higher national diploma in mechanical engineering or certificates/training in a related field with 10 years of experience in a related.
- Minimum of 15 years of proven work experience with advanced knowledge in maintenance operations.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery equipment.
- Good knowledge of measures and procedures for health and safety on site.
- High knowledge of procedures and measures of equipment, knowledge of equipment lubrication operations.
- Advanced knowledge in management and organization of machinery.
- Ability to work in a team
