Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client, Worley Parsons Uganda, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced QC Supervisor (Mech Rotating & Static Equipment (2) to work on the EACOP (East African Crude Oil Pipeline) construction project in Uganda.
The QC Supervisor Mechanical Rotating & Static Equipment reports functionally to the QC Lead and administratively to the Construction Quality Manager and has the responsibility of co-ordinating the day-to-day quality activities of the allocated Lot construction quality staff and CONTRACTORs mechanical equipment site works.
Duties and Responsibilities
- They will ensure all mechanical works are carried out using safe working practices and are completed in accordance with the project codes, standards, drawings, and specifications.
Qualifications and experience
- Hold a mechanical inspector or rotating inspector certification issued by a recognised international certification scheme such as ASQ / AWS / PCN or other Company agreed applicable qualification that support the assurance management and compliant execution delivery of the onshore Pipeline and related AGI, MST facilities and EITS infrastructure scopes.
- A minimum of 12-year mechanical inspection related working experience including at least 8 years’ proven work experience as QA/QC mechanical supervisor or mechanical quality engineer in the oil & gas industry.
- Previous Quality assurance/engineering experience and demonstrated knowledge/use of Quality tools/methodologies.
- 8 years of QC experience working within a cross-functional oil & gas pipeline project team supporting; engineering, interface, contractor construction and commissioning readiness.
- Experienced in analysing welding & NDE metrics to report accurate KPI’s and potential non-compliance trends and status back to the Quality Lead and project management team
- Competency and proven experience within Worley or equivalent proprietary management systems and associated desktop applications for project delivery
- Competency within industry applications such as Assure, OMIE, Aconex, PowerBI, P6, CMT, SharePoint, Adobe, MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction compliance, risk controls and site HSE hierarchy
- Demonstrate proficiency in the inspection of site installations of rotating & static equipment packages
- Demonstrate proficiency in the interpretation of engineering/vendor drawings, plans and specifications
- A high focus on identifying and meeting the key project deliverables and quality objectives.
- Understanding the impact of mechanical quality within the critical path of construction planning programs
- Knowledge of auditing processes and ISO 9001
- General knowledge of codes such as; API 650, 686, ASME PCC-1 and minimum requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of field mechanical installation methodologies and critical tolerances
- Demonstrate proficiency in the interpretation of mechanical package drawings and vendor drawings.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis (RCA); data-driven decision, risk analysis, analytical reporting
- Demonstrated communication skills including the ability to articulate mechanical concerns and solutions with teams consisting of individuals with various technical and educational backgrounds.
- Previous experience working with multicultural contractors’ and reporting their quality performance.
- Staff management experience (knowledge of mentoring and motivation techniques)
- Autonomous, self-motivated, and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to change or shifting priorities.
