Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client, Worley Parsons Uganda, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Engineering Regulation Consultant to work on the EACOP (East African Crude Oil Pipeline) construction project in Uganda.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Engineering Regulation Consultant will advise on all technical matters relating to compliance with national & local laws, building regulations and standards.
- The consultant will aid engineers to address technical issues and ensure compliance.
- The consultant will also be responsible for reviewing deliverables, monitoring project compliance, and liaising with the relevant government authorities (where required)..
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelors (Hons) degree in civil/structural engineering from a formally recognized institution
- Registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) in Uganda
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience required in construction projects with a minimum of 5 years in a similar position (projects of similar scale and complexity)
- Working knowledge of national and local regulatory frameworks (laws, building regulations, guidelines, and policies)
- A strong communication, networking, collaboration, and well-developed team-working skills, especially in multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams.
- A full understanding of how all elements of the project scope integrate and interface with each other and are managed to successfully deliver the right project outcome
- A high focus on identifying and delivering the identified deliverables, which meet project expectations from a quality and performance perspective, with minimal integration challenges to current operations.
- Excellent teamwork & skills being able to work with the various sub-teams to resolve issues and reach decisions that are in the best interests of the integrated project team.
- An ability to work effectively in a diverse, multidisciplinary team environment, including Interface management experience, within facilities, and across other functions.
- Strong Team Building, Development and Mentoring skills.
- Competency within industry applications such as MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Demonstrated knowledge of compliance, risk controls and site HSE requirements
- Demonstrated communication skills including the ability to articulate engineering concerns and solutions with site engineers consisting of individuals with various technical and educational backgrounds.
- Previous experience working with multicultural contractors’ and reporting their performance.
- Autonomous, self-motivated, and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to change or shifting priorities
