About This Job:

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Merchant Recruitment executives to work in Gulu, Uganda.

Purpose of the Job (Brief)

The role holder will be responsible for; merchant acquisition recruitment, relationship management and the implementation of the overall merchant strategy across all Multi-National & Local Corporate companies, Point of sale terminals & point of sale software providers to scale up foot print & reach

Expected Key Results

Merchants acquisition – MNCs, Local Corporates & POS

Activities (Detailed KPIs)

  • Delivering exceptional sales performance by identifying local companies to drive the Airtel merchant business.
  • Ownership & achievements of daily, monthly, quarterly & annual targets within the assigned segment.
  • Identifying potential prospects & carrying physical visits & pitches to ensure closure within the niche.
  • Ensuring KYC due diligence of all the prospects to ensure compliance before tie ups and follow through on contract closure.

Merchant Training & Relationship Management

  • Responsible for training of all tied up merchants i.e. both owners & business handlers.
  • Responsible for relationship management of all appointed merchants and ensure business growth and adherence to compliance
  • Ensuring refresher trainings on key business developments & in event of handler turnover at the merchant point.

Stakeholder management

  • Collaborating and working with 3rd party providers to identify sales leads within assigned segment and ensure closure of the same
  • Identify service gaps and escalate to support teams to ensure corrective action

Revenue growth & business review

Activities (Detailed KPIs)

  • Ensuring that all set up merchant outlets across the country are active and operational.
  • Establishing collaborative relationships with all tied up partners to ensure business efficiency.
  • Establishing clear sales objectives & value proposition for all merchant prospects.
  • Working together with the Team leader to ensure performance tracking & timely reports availability to individual merchants

Merchant visibility.

Activities (Detailed KPIs)

  • Ensuring that all appointed merchants are well branded & product fully merchandised.
  • Scaling up of visibility at all existing merchant touch points i.e. replacement of all faded material.

Reporting & feedback

  • Timely reports pertaining segment performance with scale up plan.
  • Routine merchant partners review & transactions growth initiatives across the segment.

Educational Level:

Must have:

  • A university education preferably Bachelor of Business Studies

Working Experience:

  • 1 year of experience in Business development/sales preferably in FMCG

  • Experience in building and development of channels

Role will have no direct reports but responsible clients recruitment and management as well as management stakeholders to ensure seamless merchant support.
