JOB DESCRIPTION

CCI Kenya is a fast-growing organization that demonstrates agility and is always prepared ahead of time. As we grow, we plan to invest in our workforce and empower them with critical interpersonal skills, soft skills, and behavioral training programs.

We are looking for a product and skills trainer/coach who will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the training programs. Coaching, training delivery, and facilitation of product and soft skills training will account for approximately 70% of the workload.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Facilitation and Training Delivery

I. Deliver interpersonal and product/soft skills training using innovative methods including activity-based learning, role plays, and experiential learning that empowers trainees to interact with clients and teams.

II. Facilitate sessions for both verbal as well as written skills

III. Conduct live weekly learning sessions and events, for example, coaching circles and study groups.

IV. Monitor participant engagement and learning curve and implement appropriate strategies to boost skills and learner engagement.

V. Grade participants’ portfolios and give meaningful feedback on how they can improve.

2. Analyzing and Defining Learning Gap/Opportunity

I. Establish instructional goals, success metrics, and overall objectives.

II. Audience analysis: identify information regarding the learner such as the learning environment, preferences, existing knowledge, and skills.

III. Categorizing the areas of improvement at an individual level or group level.

IV. Participates in strategic planning sessions to design learning and development strategies and roadmaps for people skilling.

V. Conducts training needs assessments against current and future training to deliver optimal results.

VI. Communicate with Upstream program staff to understand agency successes, challenges, workflow, and other contexts relevant for Coaching Skills Training sessions

VII. Monitor coach progress and performance from the LMS (Learning Management System)

3. Designing Learning Solutions

I. Set learning objectives, instructional methods and activities, storyboards, content, subject matter knowledge, lesson outlines, and media assets.

4. Developing or Curating Instructional Content

I. In collaboration with functional teams, project teams, trainers and technical team, develop training courses and schedule training delivery.

II. Curate instructional content, for example, diagnostic assessments, role plays, case studies, and performance support tools that align to the desired learning or behavioural outcome.

5. Evaluating Training Effectiveness and Impact

I. Measure the impact of the training programs using pre-designed tools and communicate results to key stakeholders.

6. Promoting an open knowledge-sharing environment that builds knowledge, skills, and service for the benefit of the organization as a whole.

7. Trainer should possess a variety of skill sets including time management, multi-tasking, interpersonal, problem-solving ability, conflict management, presentation skill, communication and listening skills, leadership skills, team building and adaptability to move through changes.

8. Innovative training techniques to make training more effective, fun and interactive. 9. Perform other duties related to training as needed.

Qualification

I. At least 2 years of experience in training delivery of product or soft skills programs.

II. Thorough knowledge of instructional design models and processes, for example, ADDIE, SAM, and Backward Design.

III. Comprehensive knowledge of methods and techniques for planning, designing, and developing instructional content for soft skills.

IV. Exemplary in facilitating live learning events in face-to-face and/or virtual environments.

V. Proficient in recognizing individual learning needs and developing strategies to address the gaps.

VI. Proficient in using participant data to customize instruction design to suit learners

VII. Exemplary written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

VIII. Proficient in managing multiple campaigns and delivering results under prescribed deadlines.
