What you’ll do
Babyl is looking to expand and is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer (Java) to join our team in Kigali, Rwanda. The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex problems in the healthcare industry and will have a strong background in Java and full stack web development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of our web-based healthcare applications.
Babyl Rwanda tech stack contains a monolithic core Ruby on Rails application, a number of Java microservices, and several static web apps built in React. You will be closely working with a product manager based in Rwanda and with the small engineering team based in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
● Design and develop web-based healthcare applications using Java and related technologies
● Participate in the full software development life cycle, from concept to deployment
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams (based in UK) to identify and resolve technical issues
● Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
● Ensure the performance, security, and scalability of the applications
● Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the healthcare and technology industries
What matters most?
● Strong experience in Java and full stack web development
● Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related front-end technologies
● Experience with web frameworks such as Spring and React
● Understanding of Service-oriented architecture
● Knowledge of database systems such as MySQL and Postgresql
● Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
● A strong command in the English language (both written and verbal)
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
What’s great to have?
● Knowledge in Ruby on Rails
● Experience in building mobile apps with React Native
● Knowledge in Docker and Kubernetes
