Position: Business Analyst

A suitable candidate for this role will have a strong passion and skill for research & data analysis. In addition, a suitable candidate will have strong data visualization skills and be able to create infographics, data maps, and visual reports. An ideal candidate will be familiar with the African entrepreneurship ecosystem and have practical data collection experience. In addition, the ideal candidate will have strong business acumen and knowledge.

In this role, you will develop & enhance research, data management, and data application skills. You will have the opportunity to build strategic partnerships and also lead efforts to publicize key insights and data from ABH to the broader African entrepreneurial ecosystem. Your work will directly impact the strength and intelligence of our application and screening system and will thus support ABH to identify the most talented African entrepreneurs.

This role entails the following responsibilities:

  1. Conducting landscape assessment on the African entrepreneurial ecosystem and identifying new opportunities for partnerships, PR/marketing & training for our Heroes, and enhancement of our Program and competition
  2. Researching best practices of entrepreneurship competitions and programs
  3. Leading research on data application and partnership opportunities
  4. Analyzing research and creating reports/illustrations to convey the results of the analysis
  5. Developing, managing, and analyzing surveys related to the ABH prize competition, events, and the ABH Show
  6. Working with ABH’s system provider to improve the application, screening, and administrative system
  7. Supporting Program manager to analyze application data and make data-driven decisions and create summaries for key stakeholders
  8. Tracking the developments of ABH Heroes via surveys, desk research, and interviews
  9. Gathering data and evidence of ABH’s wider ecosystem impact, including tracking and reporting the impact of the ABH Show – including the number of people viewing the Show.
  10. Helping to analyze ABH applicants’ data (especially the Top 50 and provide detailed insights on the robustness of their business)
  11. Working closely with PwC to facilitate due diligence of Top 20 and to provide quality control of the robustness of the due-diligence reports
  12. Building ABH thought leadership position by issuing regular data reports or content pieces.
