Our client is a multinational and industry leader in Trade Financing services looking for Regional Head of Sales and Relationship Management
ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Managing Director- Africa, the role is responsible for the identification, development and management of a portfolio of large local and global corporates, SOEs and government bodies looking for financing through trade finance instruments issued by tier one and strong tier two banks. Manage all associated risks linked with each transaction, including country risk, credit risk, market risk, operational risk and company reputational risk.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand clients’ funding needs in East Africa and develop plans to address them, using Client’s funding structures.
- Market Client’s products to new and existing counter-parties. Gain solid knowledge of competitors in the region.
- Manage existing relationships of Client – both banks and corporates (as appropriate).
- Identify key staff in client companies to cultivate profitable relationships.
- Negotiate and agree commercial terms with counter-parties.
- Promote high quality trade financing and customer service processes.
- Work together with other members of the group in identifying new opportunities and developing new products.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
- 8 years + of sales and relationship management experience with corporates and banks.
- 5 years + of banking experience in Trade/Corporate Banking.
- Master’s degree or equivalent from a reputable university.
- Strong sales skills and relationship management experience with local, large local and global Corporates and Banks:
- Strong knowledge of trade finance common structures and all trade finance instruments.
- Have full understanding of UCP 600, Letters of credit, Guarantees, Promissory notes, Bills of Exchange and trade related receivables.
- Good understanding of credit limits in banks and financial institutions.
- Knowledge of Cross Border Trading and Transaction Process
