Job Profile

Reporting to the Project Manager the Field Technical Officer will carry out the following activities.

Roles and responsibilities

  1. Farmer selection/ recruitment based on set criteria
  2. Ensure all required farmer documents are available and correct
  3. Validate all information provided by the farmers at all stages
  4. Farmer training on good agricultural practices
  5. Ensure proper use of all inputs provided to the farmers
  6. Ensure all farmer activities are carried out within legal and environmental requirements
  7. Crop monitoring and reporting to management
  8. Provide management with accurate yield/volume estimate for each farmer
  9. Ensure contracted farmers deliver the contracted volume
  10. Farmer data collection and uploading on farmer management platform
  11. Lead on innovations to improve farmer performance
  12. Ensure safety and proper use of all working tools provided by client and employer
  13. Ensure own safety and immediately report all unsafe acts or conditions to the management
  14. Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
  15. Maintain a clean & safe environment

Qualification and Experience

  1. Minimum diploma in agronomy or related field
  2. 3 years’ experience in managing agronomy extension services
  3. Valid driving license for motorcycle from a valid driving School class A2 or FG
  4. High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
