JOB TITLE: GANTRY CRANE OPERATOR

JOB OVERVIEW

• As a gantry crane operator you will be responsible for the safe operation, control, and maintenance of cranes

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conducting machine safety checks each day
2. Setting up cranes and operating them
3. Moving material around site according to a plan or schedule
4. Monitoring crane stability and load weights
5. Working with a banksman to ensure site safety
6. Making minor repairs to machinery
7. Reporting any issues to the supervisor
8. Keeping records of the materials you’ve moved
9. Ensuring that travel routes are clear
10. Working on-site, in noisy conditions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Certificate/Diploma in Craft is required.
2. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing Industry
3. An understanding of how to use and maintain machines and tools
4. Good team working skills
5. Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
6. Attention to details
7. Good spatial awareness.
