JOB TITLE: KITCHEN COMMIS
Reports to: Kitchen sous-chef
Location: Magana, Kikuyu
- The role is responsible and accountable for food safety management in the area of work, production of cold and warm preparations, efficient management of ingredients, timely execution of production orders. The tasks will amongst others include preparation of salads, warm meal preparations and some desserts preparations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Atleast a culinary arts degree from a recognized school
- Minimum of 4 years of experience (PRIOR to Covid)
- Is willing and able to follow set production processes strictly, without deviations and consistently
- Impeccable personal hygiene is a must
- proficient with the use of smartphone / tablets applications
- Excellent written and oral English language
- Knows and applies all principles of food safety and hygiene
- Efficient and fast in cutting meats or vegetables
- Knows the different ways to cut vegetables
- Knows how to make the different “sauces mère”
