On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced IP Engineer to work in Nairobi, Kenya
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced IP Engineer to design, implement, and manage the company’s IP network infrastructure. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the ISP network.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, configure, and maintain IP network infrastructure
- Manage routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.)
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues
- Implement network security protocols and best practices
- Work with fiber and access network teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Plan and execute network expansions and upgrades
- Maintain documentation of network architecture and configurations
- Provide support for enterprise and residential connectivity solutions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong knowledge of IP networking and ISP architecture
- Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS preferred)
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to relocate from Kenya to Tanzania
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
- Experience working in ISP or telecom environments
- Knowledge of network security and traffic management
